⭐️MERU MOMELLA 4 DAY TREK⭐️

There is only one established designated trail to Mount Meru's peak, and that is the Momella route. It starts at Momella Gate on the eastern side of the mountain and ascends the northern arm of the horseshoe crater to the top.

Despite the fact that many who want to climb Kilimanjaro frequently utilize Mount Meru as a practice run, the smaller mountain is really more technical. Don't overlook Mount Meru despite the fact that it is smaller than the spectacular Kilimanjaro. Due to Meru's steepness, as many climbers have discovered, it can be just as challenging as the latter.

The Momella Route is clearly defined, and huts along the way provide simple, comfortable lodging. Although you won't require oxygen, acclimatization is crucial, thus it's strongly advised that you spend at least a few days at altitude before attempting the climb. Don't try to rush up if you haven't been properly acclimatized because it's high enough that you'll feel the affects of altitude. Wildlife will cross your path while you trek, and Kilimanjaro will be in full view as you watch the sunrise.

If you're not compelled to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru is a spectacular trek. It's also a great warm-up for the those intending to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Tanzania's top tourist destination may be Kilimanjaro, but Meru deserves your attention as well. Although Meru is 4,000 feet shorter than Kilimanjaro, it's an impressive mountain that can be climbed as a strenuous acclimatization hike or as an attraction in and of itself.

You can expect to see giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and possibly elephants close to the trail on the first day of hiking, which is akin to a walking safari. The Ngarenanyuki River and a stunning waterfall at the foot of Mount Meru are also visible as you hike farther.

Your chef will have a hot dinner and washing water ready for you when you get to Miriakamba Hut (2500m). As you remain the night, take in the beautiful sunset.
